Hi, my name is Amy, and I am the proud owner and Director of Autism Care and Support Services (ACASS).

For the past 20 years, I have studied and worked within the Early Childhood sector, supporting children from 0–6 years of age. Throughout this time, my passion for caring for and supporting others has continued to grow, particularly when working alongside children and young people with additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, communication delays, both verbal and non-verbal, behavioural challenges and intellectual disabilities.

My passion for disability support has also been shaped by my own personal journey. I am a proud mum to two beautiful boys who are both on the Autism Spectrum. Through my boys, I have learned so much about strength, determination, resilience and the importance of recognising each person's individual strengths and "superpowers". They have given me a deeper understanding of the experiences many families navigate every day and continue to inspire me in both my personal and professional life.

More recently, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, which has given me another personal perspective on living with a disability and navigating the challenges that can come with changes to your abilities, independence and everyday life. While everyone's journey is different, this experience has strengthened my empathy and understanding of how important it is to feel heard, respected and genuinely supported.

I believe strongly that disability should never define what a person can achieve. I love thinking outside the box, finding creative solutions and looking at what is possible rather than focusing on what may be difficult. My goal is to support every participant to live their life to the fullest, pursue their goals, build confidence and experience meaningful opportunities within their community.

This passion and commitment is what led to the creation of ACASS. What began from a desire to share my knowledge and support other families has grown into a team of dedicated people who genuinely care about making a difference. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together and remain passionate about creating a service where participants and families feel listened to, valued, respected and supported.

I hold a Certificate III and Diploma in Early Childhood Services, Certificate III in Individual Support through Victoria University and a Certificate IV in Disability.

I am committed to continually developing my knowledge and skills and regularly undertake professional development to ensure ACASS continues to provide high-quality, person-centred and meaningful support to the people and families we work alongside.
